About Your Breeder

Hi, I’m Susanne….your Colorado bulldog breeder!

As with most stories of life, ours is full of twists and turns.  I was born, raised and traveled around the world, growing up in a military family, moving nearly every two years until college.  I yearned for a piece of dirt to call home – to settle into and to never leave.  I also dreamed of being a wildlife biologist.  This dream led me to career as a wildlife officer and my passion for wildlife grew into a passion for canines.

Being a small statured female (5’3” if I stand straight and 95 pounds if wet), my family worried about my long hours working in the backcountry and hours away from radio contact or the nearest town.  The solution – a service dog.  I imported the best I could locate from Germany and my husband and I picked up an 8 week old puppy, Kodiak from Denver International Airport.  He came from incredible lines, was a loyal companion, and my best friend on the job.  Kodiak saved my life on one occasion and sealed my love of the breed and a deep passion for our canine friends.  He retired with me when I resigned to start our family and spent the remainder of his life watching over our first daughter, Brooke.  Our next German Shepherd, Jana, faithfully watched over our daughter, Dalton and our son, Bridger.

Back to the piece of dirt to call home.  My husband and I were searching for ways to “tie us to the land,” on our mountain home and built a ranch from scratch.  Not an easy task.  When it came to starting our cattle herd, we scoured Craigslist looking for anything in our budget.  That herd has since been sold as we quickly learned the importance of genetics did not just fall in the canine world.  We now have Akaushi cattle, Kunekune pigs and milking lines of Nigerian dwarf goats.  Six years later, something still seemed to be missing from the ranch – and we found the missing link – English bulldogs.

I met my first bulldog, Chowder, 7 years earlier and fell in love with the little guy.  I love our German shepherds, but the thought of having a real to life cartoon character following me around or laying on the front porch – I couldn’t even imagine! After talking about bulldogs for nearly a decade, in 2021, my girls and I traveled 1,738 miles and picked up our first three bulldogs.  On October 3, 2021, we brought home two sisters from champion bloodlines and a male from a Bred with H.E.A.R.T. breeder.  The three have brought us an incredible amount of joy and laughter.  I cannot express in words how funny these little dogs are and how they brighten the day!

After certifying our amazingly fun-loving bulldogs – here we are.  Our family – myself and my husband (Susanne and Bret), our three children (Brooke, Dalton, and Bridger), our livestock and our pups (Goose – livestock protection dog, Cassie – our rescue dog, and Dozer, Molly, and Winnie, our bulldogs).  We cannot wait to introduce you to them.
